What are we looking for in a company? Drive leaders, great ideas, and a vision for the future.
This application helps us have a first understanding of your company. There are no questions that will preclude your company from the program, rather we want to learn about what you have done so far so we an consider if it is a good fit.
The Maritime Alliance’s BlueTech Incubator has been a great place for XST to collaborate and engage with TMA and member organizations. The space is unparalleled with respect to the class of office space. The weekly huddles are a valuable way to stay engaged and find out new ideas.
The TMA staff has been very gracious with their support of Intellecy. All are willing to share resources, make a referral or share some insight. Joining the TMA and being selected to be part of the Blue Tech Incubator has proven to be a great decision for Intellecy.
Once submitted, your application is read by Incubator Staff and - if it seems like a fit - will be followed by a phone/video or in-person interview with a small screening committee. Following the initial interview we may request a 2nd interview to answer additional questions. If the application is denied you'll be notified with our comments and reasoning. If we move forward with your application you can expect information including starting date. Typical terms at BTI are 6 month increments.
BTI does not provide funding, but does provide office space, a mentorship program, monthly events, introductions to service providers and investors, and connections to our global network of contacts. We are also trying to help establish BlueTech-oriented investment funds that could invest in incubator companies in the future.
Any ocean or water/wastewater tech company looking for a leg up in the BlueTech industry.
BTI can accommodate 5 companies on-site and up to 10 companies off-site. We accept companies on a rolling basis, depending on what type of space we have available. Accepted companies must be a member of The Maritime Alliance.
No. Although we have more capabilities “hands-on” with companies on site at BTI, we also provide opportunities for off-site companies to work with mentors and use BTI facilities when reserved.
We have also had success in providing “virtual incubation” services to companies outside the region when paid to do so. If this is of interest, please contact TMA about custom programs.
Other than being focused on innovative technologies and/or services for the Ocean & Water/Wastewater industries, we have no prerequisites to being incubated. We believe in lowering the barriers to entry, which can include assisting early stage companies navigate through incorporation, legal work, and later investment. And we ask that companies attend incubator talks, including monthly “Executive Talks”, and other events whenever possible.
