In Partnership with Green Connections 2019
BlueTech Week is all about the companies and the people driving the sustainable Blue Economy. It's the annual event where hundreds of senior international participants gather in San Diego to highlight collaboration and innovation.
The theme for BTW 2019
The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted in 2015 with 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity. Of particular note for BTW2019 are SDG6: Clean Water & Sanitation; SDG7: Affordable & Clean Energy; SDG14: Life below Water; and SDG17: Partnerships for the Goals.
The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted in 2015 with 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity. The UN Water Action Decade (2018-2028) and the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) were adopted to mobilize the scientific community, policy-makers, business and civil society around a program of joint research and technological innovation.
Cluster organizations are all about partnerships... and have a critical role to play in promoting collaboration across the Triple Helix (academia/education, industry and policy makers) region-by-region, country-by-country. Our mission is to "Promote Sustainable, Science-Based Ocean & Water Industries", so the 2019 theme is core to our function and timely given the overlapping UN ocean and water decades. We call on clusters, educators, government and innovators to join us to discuss education, technology solutions, and international collaboration to help achieve these SDGs.
We are excited to announce that BlueTech Week 2019 will be co-located with Green Connections 2019 for the very first time! Green Connections will be taking place on Thursday, November 21 on the 2nd floor of the Sheraton Bayfront Hotel & Marina.
This year’s specific areas of focus include Marine Debris Solutions, Aquaculture/BioMarine, Maritime Robotics, Offshore Renewable Energy, Water/Wastewater and Smart-Ports and Shipping.
Consisting of 7 events over 5 days, #BlueTechWeek attracted 550+ participants from 16+ countries, 140+ companies and leading experts from academia, finance, government, and industry.
BlueTech companies and academic researchers have developed technologies to monitor and observe the earth's natural systems and are responsible for having developed our understanding the environmental challenges we face.
We believe that BlueTech will also provide the critical solutions to help address these problems and foster a sustainable Blue Economy.
BlueTech Week connects a sustainable Blue Economy globally year-after-year.
