Our 4th annual BlueTech Cluser Convening was held at the San Diego Foundation in Liberty Station. Our full day included an members of the BlueTech Cluster Alliance and other international players discussing policy and cluster development. In the afternoon, we were joined by industry and academia members for our Triple Helix Dialogue.
Held at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, our Marine Debris Solutions Day presented a number of different academic, industry and policy solutions to this growing threat. Topics included plastics in the ocean, sunkel vessels, oil detection and cleanup, and fishing and netting gear solutions.
Our 10th Summit & Tech Expo, held at the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown San Diego, showcased 38 exhibitors, and a full 2 days of networking events with 4 tracks - aquaculture/biomarine, offshore renewable energy, robotics, smart ports and shipping, and water/waste water technology.
BlueTech Investors Day 2018 included 22 company pitches, judged by a panel of 4 investors with many others sitting in the audience. Each company was given 6 minutes to pitch followed by 6 minutes for Q&A. A number of our companies have received investment as a direct result of participating in the BlueTech Investors Day.
